Today is November 21st and I’m 21 days into finishing a novel by the end of this month. If you’re not familiar with NANOWRIMO it’s the National Novel Writing Month challenge that authors everywhere participate in during the month of November. The challenge is to complete at least a 50k word novel in one month.
I eagerly signed up for the challenge in October after just completing Reiki and Rock. The idea and the characters in the novel came to me just a few days before the 1st and I was ready to begin on Moxie and Roses. The novel is about Moxie who’s a stripper in a high-end secret Dallas Texas nightclub, Pamela an ex beauty queen turned horse ranch entrepreneur, and Edgar a Native American horse whisperer. They all end up at Pamela’s ranch, Thunder Rose, as they each encounter otherworldly occurrences there. The ranch holds the key to something for each of them.
And that’s what I know so far. I don’t write like most authors so I have no outline and no idea what is going to happen next. You can listen to the video on my Home Page on how I receive and channel my books. This is the same way I wrote Reiki and Rock and I really had fun with this process. Each new chapter is just as exciting for me as it is for you when you read it.
Tomorrow I’ll share more of where I’m at with Moxie and Roses and get everybody up to speed on the story so far. But suffice it to say I’m way behind.
This morning I chose to do a short run and then spend as much time as possible by the pool working on my novel. As I settle into my pool lounger with IPad, phone, headset, and various other comfort items, I set my music playlist and turn it up loud.
I decide to continue with the channeling approach again today and call in my helping spirits and my characters to join me. I also say a prayer to God surrendering to Him and allowing him to work through me on this project. I write for awhile and then go back to read what has flowed out onto the page. And I realize something.
My writing is taking on a sensual and erotic quality that comes out from the characters. They just are this way and they are allowing me to tell their story. I thank them for entrusting their story to me and get a little worked up myself reading about how they relate to each other. Here's a short excerpt from Reiki and Rock so you can see what I mean,
"As they stepped out of the studio onto the veranda, something caught Rob’s eye. Up on a large balcony of the main house was a red haired beauty looking out from the inside, body hidden behind the curtains. When she saw it was Rob with Jenny she stepped out onto the balcony. Her hair blew in the salty breeze as she turned to look their way. Rob could see she was completely naked and Jenny just giggled. Nothing intimated Jade and she waved happily. “Hi you two,” she said shading her eyes from the sun with her hand.
I'll be right down. Let me put something on,” she said as she dashed inside. “Don't leave Rob,” he heard her yell from inside.
But all he could think of was the sweet feeling he felt when he saw her completely as she was."
After returning from the pool, I sat out on my balcony for a bit and looked out over the mountains. Suddenly the mountain I'd been looking at for four days revealed itself to me. I saw what appears to me to be the profile of a huge goat head. I tried to capture it in the photo above. Do you see it?
I asked the mountain what it was showing me this goat head for and it's response was, "Just sit with it." So I am doing this and will see what comes of it.
Later my mind wanders back to an incident that happened the other morning. As I opened the door of my third floor villa, there was one lone honey bee on the ground right outside the door. Honey bee is the power animal of my career so I take special notice of them and their activity when they're around. Now this poor little bee was clearly struggling and it didn't seem like he had much time left.
I knelt down and asked him how I could help him. I will often help souls cross over if they ask. This little bee responded that he wanted me to submerge him in water. I really couldn't believe it, but after asking again I got the same answer. So I got a glass of purified water and with tears streaming, I picked up his small body and placed him on the water. He floated and told me no he needed to be submerged. I got a small fork from the kitchen and used it to push his small body under the water and down.
I could feel his spirit leave so I let him rise to the top where he floated lifeless. I didn't want to take him out yet as I wasn't sure where I wanted to rest his body. Something told me to just let him float. I left the villa to run an errand and was gone for about an hour.
Upon returning, I went to look at my bee friend in the water and WHAT, I couldn't believe my eyes. He was alive! So now I lifted him out and put him out on the balcony. He was pretty wet and just moved about for awhile crawling around. When I came back I saw him crawl off and then he was gone. There's so much going on in this occurrence that I still haven't processed it all. If you have any ideas please share them in the comments. As for me, I think I'll go back to my vacation now.
